  • [Link Tagging Update] Questions about rel=sponsored/nofollow on affiliate links

Hello everyone, I have very specific and technical questions with the new update that is rolling on about spam links and rel atribute on affiliate links. I hope some of you experienced the same situation.

As you may know, Google just launched a new update about spam links and tag attribute

    My case :
I have a website wich got affiliate links that point to a subdomain API wich makes the redirection to the online merchant. The majority of my links are in nofollow but some of them does not.

    So here’s my questions :

    * If an affiliate links point to an API that makes the redirections to the merchant, do I really need to put a nofollow/sponsored attribute ?
    * If I change the “rel=nofollow” to “rel=sponsored” of all my affiliate links according to the recommendations of Google, will there be a change from an SEO point of view ?
    * Do I need to specify a rel with 2 attributes like “rel=nofllow sponsored” ?

Thanks in advance for the answers that’ll help me and the community !
