  • Leave or Delete spam comments on insta?

Posted by hoosiertrekkie on March 11, 2023 at 11:59 pm

We are fighting a near constant battle of spam comments on Instagram. The format is always the same: “Promote it on….” or “Send Pic to…”.

I’ve been deleting them, but it’s becoming time consuming. How do you handle it?

    Appreciate any advice.

I clean house and block and report them. I also block all their keywords like “promote on” I was militant about this and then just stopped getting them a few years ago. It’s worth it

Make a view/dive/search/filter in your management tool and mass close /delete them once a day.

If you’re not using any kind of tool for it, then pick one, trial it and get everything done 4x as fast. Native tools aren’t beneficial for anything but the tiniest businesses.

Use the hidden words feature and block all common phrases

Unless it’s really irritates you, leave it. Better spend time on real audience than scam audience

One thing I realise is that once u start deleting them
They will eventually appear less on your posts

Personally when I browse Instagram and see spam on other peoples posts, always report them. Everyone should be helping other content creators.

I shadowban them. They can’t be seen by anyone other than me and them.

Report, block, then also add usual phrases to hidden words. See if you can avoid using locations or hashtags that attract those bots. Some use “fancy fonts” to get around hidden words so you just have to remove them.

Some folks keep them and reply to them to boost their engagement rate but I find that artificial and pointless.

I hate leaving them, but I do for the engagement rate. Our director breathes down my neck over social results but only looks at Twitter, so I just keep the spam comments on IG so when it’s time to submit a report, it looks good. If there’s an excessive amount I’ll delete them, but otherwise nope.
