    Language target on Google Ads

Posted by seohelper on September 30, 2021 at 6:11 pm

How do you target anyone who speaks English in a country that is not USA, Canada, or Europe?

Sometimes based on my clicks it’s unclear if someone clicked because they understood the Ad bc they speak English, or if it was translated, or if they just clicked my ad and Google translated my website.

Any thoughts on what could be going on?

you can target “language” in G Ads but it is the language set in the browser, non english speaker can have an “english” browser and vice versa

the most secure way to do so is to target english and local language (browser) and english through keywords

whatever your keywords match types are, the algo can now bring non english search terms to english keywords, so you have to use negative keywords

    – browser (both english and local)
    – english keywords
    – negative local language keywords

    hope this helps

Language settings for a campaign covers a user’s browser history, device language setting and what they type into Google. If they type in Spanish or French but surf English sites & iPhone is set to English. Your English ad would still show for them based on current tech. The opposite of this is also true.

I would just pick all languages for you campaign. Have your ad and site/landing page in English and big on English keywords. Then monitor your search term report and see how it goes.
