  Keywords in the Main Article Really matters?

  I have been noticing something really weird, for the past some time.
  I just want to know your take on this!

  Do keywords in the main article matter? From my experience and what I have been noticing Google doesn't care and determines for whom the article is intended using its own AI, and only goes for the real value or the crux of the article rather than keywords it is pointing at.

  Of course, on-page SEO practices like putting keywords into URL, meta desc, h1, and h2 matters, but I think that's it.

  Thoughts?

  You rank for what you put inside the article either directly target a keyword and optimizing your article for it or just put semantically similar keywords throughout
