July Google Update
Day 1 REALLY messed us up. And we weren’t doing so good in the June update. Our CWV are amazing, and user experience is really great.
Search volume is low, verified by multiple third parties including Google Trends for our highest volume keywords. What could be going on? I’ve been doing this for almost 8 years and I’ve never seen update after update like this. And it having such an impact on a site’s visibility/organic traffic.
Is this just a “wait until all the updates are done” for Google to get their act together. Or could we (and probably other websites) be missing something, here?

That’s just very naive thinking as in most cases it’s your fault the site has dropped. Sure, each major update requires a correction after it, there will be fluctuations, but if you have dropped, it’s for a reason.
Algo updates are meant to push the better pages up. Pages that have been undervalued before. It might seem like you have lost rankings but in reality, by some pages going up, others are being pushed down to where they should’ve been in the first place. Updates are just pointing out the already existing issues.
Might seem harsh, but I just don’t like people blaming whatever is the latest update when their rankings go down.
