  • Is there a way to practice SEO for free?

Posted by seohelper on June 6, 2021 at 12:17 am

I heeded the advice of gaining practical knowledge about SEO by creating a website from wordpress.

First, I was trying to get into keyword research using Google keyword planner, but then I thought about where I would use the words I searched from there if I find a high volume keyword with relatively low competition.

Then it lead me to plugins. Which basically ask me to pay $300 to upgrade my free wordpress website to a business plan.

Is there anyway I can gain practical knowledge on SEO without paying?

If there isn’t, are there any cheaper ways to actually practice SEO?

    Complete newbie.

My route of trying to learn SEO is:
1.Starting on keyword research, (is this considered on page SEO too?)

    2. On page SEO(trying to do it)

    3. Backlinking(don’t know how to do that yet)

    4. Technical SEO(same, still haven’t done related anything to this)

    EDIT 1:
Since I don’t have a bank account to fund my paypal, I’m going to make a blog on blogspot instead of medium to practice research keywords (tho why googling blogspot is leading me to blogger.com instead, I’m confused.)

    EDIT 2:
Wahhh I finally found a solution.
Used xampp to self-host, then installed wordpress.org, after that I was able to use plugins.

Anyways, is it possible for my website to appear in google if I’m the one hosting it?

well you can get hosting and a domain for almost for free, like $30 for a year for unlimited sites. if you don’t have $30 you could freelance online to get the money, like doing some article writing in exchange for cash. that will help you get better at article writing too which can be part of seo.

No expert just my 2 cents. I went this same route to learn SEO. I went to hostgator, got the hatchling plan for like 6 bucks a month, they give you a free domain for a year and wordpress is free.

Also IMO, don’t start by buying plugins. Learn first then determine what tool will fit your needs. Again, no expert but drop a DM if you have questions

I would suggest doing keyword research and writing a blog post on medium. Try to rank that article on Google first.

For keyword research Google keyword planner is good but no the best. You may use ahrefs free keyword research also.

On page SEO is very important before going into backlinks. The content must be engagin and useful with abundance of keywords in it. You may use keyword planner for related keywords to the main. Also use google search to find related keywords that are giving at the end of first page, as these words are suggested by Google. Try to use them in your content in a better way.

Backlinks creation is long term process, try to create backlinks on daily basis, Start backlinks from social signal, make profiles on all social medica netwroks linke facebook, pinterest, instagram etc. Then slowly move forward, by making profile backlinks, etc.

Keep patience and work consistetly . SERPs ranking will improve for sure.

At the end I would suggest to use blogspot for free work. I see many pages ranked on first which are made in blogspot.

SEO doesn’t need to cost you money – I have a team doing my SEO now, and I do partner with some sites, but generally you can do it for almost nothing if you know what you’re doing.
