Is there a specific way to target or prioratize audience demographics?

I own a constrution material whole sale store in the south. I running a smart campagin on Google Ads. Now my main client are commerical contractors building commerical buildings. However my Audience insight says the 70% of my clicks come from “Home Improvment” and “Homeowners” is 90%. I’m curious how to tune in the demographics to people in commerical construction and industry, no home DIY types.

First, switch from Smart to paid search.

Once you’ve done that you can apply those audiences to your search campaign and either target them directly (you may only get a trickle of traffic) or set that as observation and add positive bid adjustments, I’d suggest 100% to start.

Note that if you use automated bidding those adjustments won’t work. Instead, you’ll need to use value-based bidding (set values for your conversions) and use value rules to bid up on these audiences.

If this sounds really confusing you should probably hire somebody to take care of your account.
