Is it possible to target my ad for just 1 person?

Posted by HistorianLate8939 on April 21, 2023 at 2:51 pm

I am trying to target 1 person using ABM approach, targeting his company and title. The reason for this is because I know he is 100% interested in my services. I talked with him. Linkedin Ads editors says “Oops! Your audience is too small to launch a campaign. Please expand your audience” and doesn’t allow me to start the campaign. Is there a workaround for this? Please let me know.

I’m not sure there’s a way to do that with LinkedIn, especially in 2023, but here’s some inspiration: [https://ghostinfluence.com/the-ultimate-retaliation-pranking-my-roommate-with-targeted-facebook-ads/](https://ghostinfluence.com/the-ultimate-retaliation-pranking-my-roommate-with-targeted-facebook-ads/)

Essentially the idea would be to create an email list of your 1 target + 999 fake people, upload it, and use it in the campaign. But uploaded LinkedIn lists apparently need to match a minimum of 300 members to be used in an active campaign.

No. Platforms, including LinkedIn, require minimum audience sizes specifically so you can’t target specific people. It wouldn’t be a great look for them from a privacy standpoint and would be used for harassment or even stalking.

I mean if you could do that, what’s stopping you from using ad copy like “I see you, Bob Smith!”

As someone said above, the minimum audience size on LinkedIn is 300.
Buying decisions are rarely made by 1 person. Target more people at his company, get them talking about you among themselves.

Also: connect with him on LinkedIn. Send an email. Focus on adding value, not selling.

Call him. Invite him out for steak. This is what cold calling is for.

No, this would violate rules around PII. message or call someone if you want to tell them something

Create a larger audience that includes your target. Can’t be simpler. You know a person in the building wants to buy your product. Put a huge bill board for all in the building to see.

Assuming you can’t or won’t call him for whatever reason, run physical stuff by his offices:

    chalk marketing

    flash mob/actors

    sandwich boards

    posters

    send him a gift

    whatever

assuming this would be a large profit win for you, invest some cash in getting his attention
