Is Google Analytics (UA) Account Linking With Google Ads Broken For You?

Posted by seohelper on August 26, 2021 at 8:45 pm

I can’t tell if it’s just me, but I’ve tried to link a new Google Analytics property (UA/v3) to an existing ads account with three different browsers, but the ‘Link’… link… doesn’t do anything. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this – I’ve reached out to Google with a report on the issue 3 days ago but haven’t heard anything and the issue persists for me.

    Steps to reproduce:

    – Under Tools and Settings, click ‘Linked accounts’
    – On the Google Analytics (UA) card, click ‘DETAILS’
    – Select from your available analytics accounts and click LINK (or UNLINK – both don’t work) on the right side of the interface.

It does nothing, and the developer console reports this error:

    “`
Source map error: Error: request failed with status 404
    Resource URL: https://www.gstatic.com/cm-analysis/acx-tab-prediction-v0/tfjs/2.0.1/tf.min.js
    “`

Just curious if it’s something on my end or a more widespread problem! I’ve tested on MS Edge, Chrome, and Firefox from my Mac workstation, as well as from MS Edge on my home laptop.

    Update: I am a dumb-dumb.

Though Google could **certainly make this clearer**, I didn’t realize that I only have ‘Standard’ access on this one account, so it’s a me problem. The other accounts I am connected to are either through my manager account or I am the admin for them. Standard access allows one to view the page and see the link buttons (in clickable blue no less), but does not allow linking and does not provide an error when you try and fail to link. The console errors seem to be a red herring unrelated to the account access issue.
