Is freelance conversion tracking a viable option?
My agency doesn’t have a developer, so we’re limited in how advanced we get in our conversion tracking. We’re looking for a developer resource who can handle tracking e-commerce from scratch in GTM by conducting test purchases and pushing data to the data layer. Unfortunately, hiring a full-time or part-time developer is not an option and I can only get leadership to swing for this using a on-demand resource.
I’m curious if this model is workable – I’m skeptical that we’d be able to secure a resource for a project within the timelines necessary for new client launches. It’s frustrating because most of our new clients don’t have the resources (or willingness to pay) for this type of service, but we know we have a much better chance at retaining the business if we can show the client ROI.
Does anyone have experience with this model? What can you expect for a setup in terms of hours and turnaround times?
