Influencer Marketing VS Whitelisting App Installs

Hi everyone. I’m a just launched my app and I want to try influencer marketing as traditional ads don’t work as affective anymore after the 14.5 update. It’s a photo & video sharing app like Insta. Ideally I’d like to be able to pay per install since their is a lot of fake engagement out there but I’m also willing to pay a guaranteed price for good content I can use for later advertisements. I’ve found that there are a few ways I can do things and I wanted to know what your experiences have been and what’s the best thing for me to do.

    1. Hire an influencer myself via dms/email and have them use affiliate links. May be tough to find ones willing to do this.
    2. Company A vets top tier influencers and they choose your brand to broadcast across all their socials and get paid per installs. Issue is I can’t target as well or know who the influencers followers are as they choose you. Oh and aside from that it’s like 20k to run a test then 10k a week which is a bit much but again they only charge per install it’s just 20k upfront. The companies name is Jetfuel and they have an app for influencers called the Plug that I saw spammed everywhere. If anyone knows if this company is legit lemme know and also if there is a company that’ll let me get in at a more affordable price lemme know.
    3. Company B does allows you to run campaigns to find influencers that are willing to whitelist which means I can run ads under their social. I believe I’ll be able to target better with this approach but I’m likely to miss out on viral affects especially from TikTok plus I have to go to multiple platforms myself. This is really just solid for Instagram as there is hardly any organic reach.

If anyone has experience with any or any other recommendations to try it’d be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have experience promoting apps on Google Ads and Apple Search Ads. I just don’t understand what’s the goal here? If the goal is getting Installs then Influencer Marketing is the least effective approach in my honest opinion. Now bear in mind there is a lot of low quality Installs, especially on Android. These are people who install the app and then don’t even bother to open it. I am sure these are not the ones you’re after. At some point you may want to try also App Engagement Campaigns (if Google accepts to whitelist you for them).

There is some work to do to make sure your campaigns are done the right way. Also, make sure your Firebase and the tracking in general is properly implemented within the app. Finally, promoting apps can be costly. So make sure you have enough budget for it.
