Indexed Faceted Navigations – What to do?!
Hey guys,
One of my ecom client has 1000s of navigational facet or filter pages indexed in Google even though they were canonicalised to the master category page. How should I proceed to remove those pages from the index?
A) Block the facet URLs in robots.txt assuming that Google will drop the URLs from index
B) Add no index tags to filter pages. Once the pages are removed from index, block the facet URLs via robots.txt.
Is there any other effective solution to this other than the two mentioned above?
