There’s this small podcast with about a couple thousand viewers and the guy wants me to be his social media manager. This would include posting around 4-5 posts a week and editing the video portion of his podcast. If anyone has any pricing suggestions it would be amazing if you could share.

Source fivver or upwork for same job title and get a sense of what market rate is.

Ex. Most video editors range from $25-50+/hr.

Rate is negotiable by experience and deliverables

Negotiate for the most you can. If it’s quality work you should get at least $40 an hour and work down from there. Show them what you’ve done and what you can do for them. Never do anything for free, as many will try to get you to do so. You’re worth a ton and don’t let them ever get you to do free work. Tell them what you’d do for them but you never need to do free work.

If you live in America, you either need to have a work permit or need to be 18 to do something like that. I don’t think you can even go to work permit until 16.
And even then I think you have to be in 11th or 12th grade

Depends where you live. Cheaper labor is always available on sites like upwork & fiverr. But you need to price it for your locations living costs and where you want to take your freelancing/business. If you’re also looking to the future and starting a small agency where you would hire out others, that needs to be included in your pricing. I usually charge a flat rate for posting on social media with a set amount of posts per week/month and also a per video rate with the more videos sent your way the less you charge per video. Take into account as well that if this is your first client and you don’t have a lot of prior work that you may have to work up to charging larger amount of money for this sort of thing. I’ve found you can only really start charging larger amounts of money once you have prior successes and/or a ton of work in your pipeline.
