  • If you had to choose today – Which One? YoastSEO, RankMath and SEOFramework?

I’ve been searching /seo back the last year or so and I really can’t get a solid answer. Which one would you install if you are updating your site.

    Yoast – Bloated

RankMath – Fake reviews etc… But I’m hearing people like them.

SEOFramework – It’s light but has potential.

I have Yoast currently installed. But all this reading about rankmath has me confused on which one to change to or stay with.

None of them help you do anything other than put meta descriptions/titles and organize your back end a bit better. RankMath can do %currentyear% so your titles will update from 2021->2022 when the year rolls over.

I don’t pay for any of these plugins and I don’t recommend anyone else do it either.

I have been using rankmath free version which allows me to see if I have my content optimization in place or not. It gives a better understanding for me If I have missed anything in terms of the length of the URLs, content optimization, length of title and description, and where all I need to place my keywords for better ranking.

Where does all this “Yoast is bloated/slows down my site” stuff come from? Genuine question, because I’ve never actually seen anyone prove that it does, happy to be proven wrong.

You don’t need to pay for anything, they all do literally the same thing. I’ve used Yoast and the free version of SEOPress, both do the job great. Going to try out All In One SEO next.

Try them all out, and just choose the one that works best for your workflow/feels the most natural to you.

I’ve been using yoast for probably 6 years, then I switched to rank math…it’s just a lot cleaner of a UI both more or less do the same thing, except rank math on doesn’t try to make you buy a ton of different add-ons its just one price for everything and it has a bit more features. Summary 6 years using Yost about a year using rank math I recommend rank math

Rank Math. Way more features in the free version and better organised. Think the dynamic metas is my favourite feature.

I am using Yoast SEO for my website, it’s a really good option to my website. Otherwise, it’s depend upon your website’s category.

Why do you need any of them? What content do they provide that you can’t do by yourself?

I’ve been a huge fan of SEO Framework the last couple years. I used Yost before that and got tired of it telling me I’m doing things wrong when I know I’m not. IMO Yoast is great for people who don’t know much about SEO and don’t want to learn, Framework is more “advanced SEO” friendly and let’s you do your thing.

SEOFramework for the simplicity reason, it’s simple, does the job isn’t complicated. The only issue I have with it is the agency pricing is expensive compared to others like SEO Press

Rank Math I still can’t get over the major issues it had early. It had a call to home function, that when it broke, it broke your entire WordPress site, that kind of fault early on makes me wonder what else is going on under the hood there.

Yoast I’m just sick of updating it, seriously every other day there is an update for it (I mostly do hosting/maintence/design over SEO) and it is just filled with more than is needed for the majority of sites.

You didn’t mention SEO Press, I quite like it. It has a lot of features, is priced well, doesn’t update every other day and has some ok reviews for it.

    My personal opinion:
SEO Framework > SEO Press > Yoast > Rank Math

Trouble is most of the SEO agencies I work with only deal in Yoast sadly.

Install of them locally using Local by Flywheel and choose for yourself.

They all basically the do the same thing. It’s not the plugin but how you use it.

Also, seo is way beyond installing wp plugins.

    RankMath is superior to both.
