With my clients we have two approaches.
Approach 1 to keep the cost down is essentially coaching the client to produce video content themselves – they send us the footage and we do the edits for socials.
It’s not always the most polished product, however, with small local businesses it has an organic and approachable feel. The post production can also help the footage a lot. It’s amazing what adding some background music, hard cuts, zoom effects, captions and a logo closer does to the footage.
The other option is we suggest they set aside an extra budget for content production every quarter. This then consists of planning content for the future and shooting as much as possible within a day with them. And editing over the next couple of days.
The other thing we consider is how we can recycle video content. Whether that’s making long form content into shorter clips for reels or simply retitling and captioning the footage to suit a slightly different topic.
The same can be applied to images. However we always recommend doing a one off professional shoot for team photos, service images and on brand photos which can be used as evergreen content.
