I don’t find Hootsuite useful, is there anything I’m missing?
Posted by seohelper on May 31, 2021 at 6:34 pmHi everyone, I’ve installed hootsuite to manage 3 accounts but I don’t find any benefits, only time saving in logging in/out in the accounts for an expensive price. I was interested in the scheduling option but twitter and Facebook already have the feature. The stream board I also find it chaotic and unnecessary. I can simply click in messages and mentions to see them. What is it that makes it special?

GuestMay 31, 2021 at 7:12 pmI have a team of 10 that all log into the same platform and I can track everyone at once on all channels. It may not be for you if you’re a one man show.

GuestMay 31, 2021 at 7:46 pmIMO, the main advantage of Hootsuite is governance – being able to control who has the access to your brand accounts, what can be posted and with which level of approvals, etc.
You can also do things like basic social listening, use their app library to connect to other tools such at Talkwalker Alerts, build an asset library for your social media content, etc.

GuestMay 31, 2021 at 8:50 pmI haven’t used it in a while, but I used coschedule for a while and my favorite feature was the automated reposted. My niche is fine for that, so I liked how it would handle that aspect and then I could move things around as needed.

GuestMay 31, 2021 at 9:16 pmI was suprised at the lack of features in relation to the costs. I like Tailwind a lot better.

GuestJune 1, 2021 at 12:45 amHow do you guys create social media reports? Through these tools or design from scratch in Keynote/PowerPoint?

GuestJune 1, 2021 at 1:01 amI use Agorapulse and it has reporting built in. It’s also clean looking and way nicer to use. I’ve heard Sprout is good, Buffer, or Later.

GuestJune 1, 2021 at 5:42 amThey have been around a long time and have a name people recognize. I don’t find them good at all. I used buffer and liked it better (but it was a few years). I also like Sendible for paid more.
There are tons of social media management software out there. Try what suits your needs. Hootsuite isn’t the greatest imo

GuestJune 1, 2021 at 6:44 amAfter hours of demos and researching , I’ve found Kontentino to be my favourite for scheduling and Agorpaulse to be the best for reporting and monitoring. These two tools combined save me hours of time but it’s a significant outlay. Kontentino has the option of adding a Facebook Ads planner module, and I can then monitor and respond to the ads on Agorpaulse, so they mesh together well.
I agree though, I really didn’t care for Hootsuite. I ended up using the platforms natively too. I really didn’t like the interface, it felt clunky.
