How you structure YouTube ads campaign?

Posted by incode4it on January 20, 2023 at 12:26 pm

I plan to test YouTube ads, I’ve created multiple videos for both normal and short format. I wonder now, If for short ads I shall create a different campaign, or just have multiple ad groups in the same campaign. What you would recommend?
I’ve heard that is better to create ad groups based on targeting, like audiences and channels.

It depends on what you’re trying to test. If you want to test the ads you can add them all into a single ad group and let Google figure out what works best to achieve your campaign goal.

If you want to test audiences you need to split those into different ad groups, each with the same ad, unless running different creatives makes sense per target group.

I don’t see any reason to have separate campaigns based on your description unless you want to say run bumper ads vs. true view, or a different goal such as views vs. conversions.
