How to use Instagram for software?
I’m an open source developer and have a project I’d like to use Instagram to market / raise awareness / etc. (not ads). I’m really stumped though on how to express it visually. There’s not much in the way of people-photos: it’s not big enough to have gatherings, contributors are distributed, it’s hard to know even who is using the product to get a picture of their office or something.
Could anyone suggest ideas?

I’d find other similar products on Instagram and see what they’re doing. Get inspiration from others, then take it and make it your own.

Why do you think Instagram is the right fit to promote your software?
Instagram is a photo-sharing platform, it’s entirely visual. If your product doesn’t have flashy visuals, this is not the place for you.
Smart business is choosing to spend where it counts. Time is spent just like money is.
