  • How to spend social media budget in general

Hi again…honestly I feel like I’m in hell and idk if I want my next job to be in social media specifically. I have to utilize TikTok and I’m nervous af because video content is my weakness (mostly cuz I don’t want to appear in anything)

I’m still confused as to how paid social works but all that aside, how does one spend social budget? I don’t have all the numbers such as the cost of hiring new people.

I sorta pitched my social plan today and I just still feel like I’m doing things wrong or I’m not doing enough. They are so freakin ambitious with the event and there seems to be a lot of butting heads that I’m in the middle of.

I do more than just social media, but like what if my ideas just don’t work? I recognize that all of this isn’t JUST social media, but there seems to be a big focus on social media.

Please, any advice is appreciated. I just don’t feel confident

You create content that works on the platform. You set a goal for the campaign (e.g. awareness/video views), define your custom audience and the budget and duration of the campaign.

If you are hesitant about content or want to test different assets create multiple campaigns with a budget of 10€ and see which one creates the best ROI. The winning campaign gets the ad budget.

Not all ideas are gonna work. I’ve been doing social for more than 10 years and it has changed a lot. Platforms changed, aspect ratios changed and the way content has to be has changed.

The good thing is if your ideas don’t work, adapt and change them. Try a different hook, change the target audience or start fresh. Test, Test, Test!

For tiktok I’d focus on organic content first and worry about paid later that’s the easy part!

The latest tiktok short I made is currently at 420k organic views and its less than a week old.

My normal strategy it to allow a week or two for the organic views to add up before using a paid boost to reach even more people. I find it’s better to promote a video that already has solid engagement and has proved a vital tactic for me over the years on various platforms.

When managing a social media budget, I prioritize setting clear objectives, understanding my audience, allocating funds across platforms, creating engaging content, promoting posts, running targeted ad campaigns, monitoring analytics, testing new strategies, engaging with the audience, and adapting strategies based on results. Flexibility and data-driven decisions are essential for effective budget utilization.
