How to approach ranking products with a small catalog offering?
I have an online furniture store with five products. Ranking individual product pages seems to be more difficult, and if a product does appear in search results, it usually ends up in the shopping section.
Most of the organic results are categories from companies like "Mid Century Dining Tables" or "Rustic Coffee Tables." I was told that this is a bit more common because the more products you have in the category, the more times those keywords appear, and it can help with ranking. However, all of my products are in a single collection, so I only have one of each piece, such as an XYZ coffee table or an XZY dining table.
I would appreciate any thoughts on how to approach this. I considered creating blog posts to "highlight" each furniture piece, where I could add more relevant keyword content while linking to the product page and acting more like a funnel, but it also seems like I'm just recreating the product page. However, I'm unsure if Google looks at true product pages differently in how they place them in the search results, and maybe a blog page would perform better.
