  • How much does Website Performance affect website traffic and Google rankings?

We are a very small company. Our website has been around since 2013. Historically, we received orders primarily through our blog without using paid links or advertising. However, recently, our website traffic has significantly dropped, and we’re hardly getting any orders. The quality and quantity of our published content remain consistent. Additionally, we’ve noticed an anomaly: certain keywords generate over 20,000 views in the last 6 months, but we get zero or only 1-2 clicks. We scanned our site using PageSpeed Insights and received a score of 49 for desktop and 7 for mobile devices. My question is whether such low scores could impact our website’s ranking on Google? Previously, we were on the first page for many keywords, now we are on average on page 6.. is it possible to rise again in Google positions with such performance indicators?

A moble score of 7 is a huge red flag. You might want to have a technical SEO review the structure and determine fixes.

Page speed, especially mobile, is more important than ever, so your performance scores are certainly a flag that there are issues that should be addressed, combine that with the ever evolving changes in SEO algorithms and it sounds like you are in need of some professional help, whether that means hiring out to an agency or hiring someone to your internal team is the way to go is up to you. You can also familiarize yourself with some SEO basics and use some of the free tools available through somewhere like SEMRush to identify some things you may be able to correct on your own if you are at least somewhat technically inclined.

Click on each individual issue and address them as much as possible. Use the suggestions and also use chatGPT for help. I am sort of a newish webdeveloper and most of the sites I make are 95 and over, some 100.

DM me if you want more help. I am not gonna try to sell you anything.
