Hey all, as I start to think about being offered brand deals, it got me thinking – how do you know if the deal being offered is good?

Did you all just take the first sponsorship deal offered? Do these tend to be payments for a single post, or are longer term contracts common?

Do any brands ask you to sign exclusive deals?

Don’t buy into anything. If they offer you an ambassadorship with discounts on whatever you buy then don’t do it.

Read the fine print of a contract if they send you one.

But no don’t take every sponsorship deal you come across. I’ve skipped more than I’ve taken because my audience might not care or I simply know I could get a better deal.

Honestly, a good deal is one that pays you more than it costs you in time and effort. Don’t be afraid to negotiate or walk away if the terms aren’t right. Remember, your influence is valuable, and you should be compensated fairly.
