How Do You Guys Approach Separating Data By Device?…

Posted by seohelper on December 9, 2020 at 8:02 pm

    Hello r/PPC,

I’m curious, How do you guys approach separating data by devices(SPECIFICALLY IN GOOGLE ADS)? I was taught to always separate data by devices at least at the ad group level for every ad group. For example, if you have one ad group with 3 ads and 5 keywords in it, you should have another that is separate from it(but an exact copy of it) that has a -100% device bid adjustment for either mobile or desktop users depending on what your other ad group is targetting. The idea is that you have better control of your data and that it doesn’t skew/mess up your decision making in your account down the line. The downside of it though is that you’ll always have more to manage(ad groups, keywords, etc..) What do you guys think of this and how do you guys account for separating data by device? Do you at all? Thanks in advance for your feedback!!

Are you using an automated bidding strategy? If you are bidding with tCPA or tROAS Google will make adjustments. I no longer separate out the data.
