In my experience, they can get really pushy up to a point of damaging our relationships with the clients whose accounts we manage. In several occasions they went into sending emails to the client, saying that we are ignoring their expertise making us look not interested into further improving clients performance.
I personally didn’t have a great experience with none of the reps I got, as all conversations went pretty much the same way, automation, optimization score, increase budgets. In general they didn’t have a clue about the client’s business and what they do or need.
I’m ending my first meetings with a lot of push backs on their suggestions, so they just leave me alone afterward.
Actually, i usually keep a list of questions about some specifics not related to the client account, and for which i cannot find a confirmed information or i don’t want to bother to test. An example is that i got a “confirmation” from two independent google reps that the maximized conversions bid strategy completely ignores the geo, device, hour, days and the other bid adjustements (although available) and the TCPA takes that into accout. So you can do that, use their time to try and get some information that you are not sure or you don’t want to test for… that is if the reps are good enough to have those answers 🙂
