  • How Do I Get Rid of Unwanted Backlinks?

Posted by seohelper on August 22, 2021 at 4:28 pm

My site’s backlink profile has a lot of strange, foreign backlinks that are causing my DR (Domain Rating) to go down. I uploaded a list of these to Google’s ‘disavow links’ feature a while back, it has been a few months, and my DR is still going down, although the number of backlinks is going up. I figure I need to somehow remove these low-quality backlinks from our backlink profile, but what are some other ways to do this? I uploaded the disavowed links list to Ahrefs as well.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Whatever service you’re using to calculate a DR is not Google, so it has no way of knowing that you’ve already disavowed these backlinks, unless you tell it so.

How do you know your DR is going down because of the number of backlinks going up?

You must disavow the bad links! You can manually submit them to Google to disavow! Dm if you need help.

You shouldn’t delete low quality links. Google knows what’s up. You should only use disavow when there is excessive toxic links or you have done bad Seo yourself and google has given you a penalty. Focus on building more big quality and on niche links.

The process of removing bad backlinks is relatively simple, if time-consuming:

    1. Understand what makes a backlink ‘toxic’

    2. Use a tool to identify all bad links pointing to your website.

    3. Contact the webmaster and request removal.

    4. Create and submit a ‘disavow’ file to Google to ignore those links.
