How can I improve my social media presence?
I started using social media to advertise my business; Tiktok and Instagram to be specific. My Tiktok is doing well with +1k followers in only one month but I only grow to 420 followers on Instagram even tho I post the same content.
I would like to know if there is a way to improve my social media presence.

You may be shadowbanned on Instagram due to the high amount of followers. They did that to me. Do you have a business page, or personal? On IG.

Every business can improve on social so no worries there. The easiest tip I can give is to make sure you are actually posting different content on each platform. TikTok actually penalizes you if you post something on their platform that was posted elsewhere first. Make sure you use a different audio on the different platforms. So don’t use a video downloader and have the same background audio because you’ll actually be uploading it as original audio and then not tapping into the platform’s search and connection.
Each time a platform releases a new feature, use it. They want to see if that feature will work so they will push it out more. I.e. TikTok introducing the still image carousels. Use that feature.
Make sure you add alt text when able. Use captions. Optimize for the platform.
I highly recommend YouTube shorts — I foresee these being big for businesses who jump on them in the first half of 2023.
Not sure the nature of your business, but another easy generic tip is to have a face for your brand. Having someone that’s recognizable helps with brand recognition. You can be creative with this too…think Duolingo using their owl mascot.

I’ve been working on ways to implement IG Reels and Stories into my workflow. This will work better when I launch my blog as it will be an interesting way to let followers know a new post has been released. As I get more comfortable with those functions, it will be come a regular occurrence for me.
Twitter has been very difficult for me with getting ANY kind of engagement. I think I figured out though that instead of linking from Instagram, post the actual photo to Twitter and include the hashtags, etc.
Engagement with the audience I have to work on. When it comes to Instagram I am going to take this week to unfollow hashtags and just focus on the people that follow me and the people I follow. I find that following hashtags overloads the newsfeed and (to me) makes it very overwhelming. What I usually do is when I have downtime I engage on Social. So maybe twice, 3 times a day which might be fine but I am unsure as I am still learning.

Personally, I like the decentralised social network Solcial, which launched just a little bit more than two months ago. It has a very nice atmosphere. It really depends on what social media platform as there algorithms are different. I’m actually a social media specialist and specialize in Instagram growth and engagement. It a combination of posting daily and getting comments of 4 words + (because instagram recognizes you content as valuable).
