Houston Smoke Shop SEO
I Just opened a smoke shop in Houston (galleria/river oaks area) and my first month google numbers have been pretty poo. Im trying to learn what I can to try to avoid spending the big bucks, but does anyone in here have any experience with smoke shops, cbd, vape, dispensaries? Idk what going rates our but I can pay in product or reasonable amounts.

I’d start with optimizing your GMB and then hit the website SEO which would be focused around increasing your GMB ranking and proximity. I can send you some resources on how to do this, if you’d like. I’m down in Austin or I’d stop in and buy something to support you starting a new endeavor. Cheers

The other post here is right, start with your Google My Business / GMB listing, then work on the site. Expect things to start slow for at least 4-8 weeks, especially if in a competitive market.
The most important thing is measurement. Build off of the benchmarks you set in the first year.

Have worked on 40+ dispensaries.
Optimize your Google My Business, it helps to add in your main keyword into your GMB title, not too spammy though.
Review, review, reviews. Get as many reviews as you can muster.
Images. Add optimized images to your GMB (name the image files after your keywords a la houston-smoke-shop.jpg” and give it a great description.

Create lander pages, i.e. houston-suburb-smoke-shop
Write informative blog posts related to smoke shops.
Purchase sponsorships in local newspaper’s to get links back to your site.
Optimize your site, i.e. Smoke Shop Houston in your title and within your content.
Purchase citation packages, you can get these from Fiverr and they will syndicate mass profiles to increase your local footprint.
