    **Jaskaran’s Daily Insights:**

In case you missed it, In EU tiktok users now have the ability to “turn off personalization”. And when you do that, your main “For you page” turns into “Popular” page.

You will find only locally popular content. That feed is curated with help of your account information like location & general data.

Actually you can do the same on Youtube. As now youtube also allows you to turn off “watch history” and then the algorithm can’t recommend you new stuff based on your old interactions.

First, You and I know most people aren’t turning personalization off. That’s why I experimented with this change of FYP vs Popular page. And I think for marketers, using personalized feed for research is huge.

How? That new popular feed runs on the local user interactions that the people surrounding you in the city or region like get shown to you. As a local small business or for recruiting through TikTok, you can study that popular content to see what most people find engaging.

I live in a city with a majority of childrens & teens around me. And I saw the pattern of getting cartoon content pushed to me on this popular feed.

Your FYP is what you like, The viral content in your business is what the audience likes. This new Popular page content is what your circle & local network likes. Using it for strategy building & research is cool.

**I hope this helps to plan your week ahead**
