Help w/ Feed-Only PMax vs. Standard Shopping

Posted by tocpeak on September 17, 2022 at 7:20 pm

I have seen a lot of posts about only including a product feed for PMax campaigns in order to make it function more like a standard shopping campaign. What would be the benefit to doing this over just running a standard shopping campaign? Just the dynamic display aspect that was provided by smart campaigns previously?

Also, if running a feed-only PMax campaign, do you still add in some headline and description options like you used to do for smart shopping campaigns? I am assuming the only thing you leave blank would be images and videos?

A feed only PMax campaign is more like a smart shopping campaign, which can no longer be created. You can still run and make standard shopping campaigns. There are lots of ways you can run PMax these days, you need to test it out and see if it works for your ad account. If not then you should look at running standard shopping.
