  • Help regarding domain name selection for SEO

    I have created a website focused on reviewing smartphones. The domain name I wanted for it was taken, but it seems like it is not in use and has expired, but I need to pay $20,000 to buy it (which I cannot afford). But I have 2 alternatives in my mindLet’s say I wanted the domain **x**, but since it is taken, I was thinking of 2 variations –

    * **x**tech.com
    * **x.io**

    Which of these two name variations will be better for users and search engines, or does it not matter at all ?

    Domain name matters to a certain extent.

    I will go with the first domain of the above.

    I’d recommend going with a domain name that makes for a better brand, is more memorable, etc.

    Otherwise, the domain name doesn’t particularly have much impact on SEO.

    In your case, since X.com is not a thing, and I’m guessing there’s no other brand with the same name thats currently ranking well, then you’re good to go with X.io.
