  HELP: Do I need to resubmit the sitemap if only the design of the page is changing on my site?

  Hello,

  My company is soon refreshing the layout of its ecommerce site but the sitemap, the urls and the cms/backend solution are staying the same.

  Do you know if on the day of the switch I should resubmit the sitemap to Google Search console?

  No you don’t need to resubmit the sitemap.

  You never need to resubmit a sitemap unless the location or filename of your sitemap changes.

  All the people that recommend resubmitting sitemaps for every little change on a website have no idea what they are talking about. It provides zero benefit.
