Has anyone used the Dynamic Keyword Insertion headlines on Google Ads?

Hey, just looking for some opinions…

Has anyone used this feature before?

I work on an account for an ecommerce men’s fashion company and am thinking of using this feature for colour variations on shirts.

There are two many colours in the catalogue to be able to have a specific headline each so I’m thinking this could help with showing each colour in the ad, but I’m a bit confused on wether it would be one of our actual **keywords** that shows in the ad or just the user’s **search term**

For example, I can set the default text to show: Men’s Shirts

we have the keyword: Men’s Blue Shirts

and someone searches for: Men’s Green Shirts

If I’ve understood it correctly, in this example, if someone searches for “Men’s Blue Shirts” – that would appear in the headline because we have it as a keyword.

However, if someone searches for “Men’s Green Shirts” would my ad show the default text of just “Men’s Shirts” (becuase we dont have keyword for green shirts…) or does it add the search term, so the ad would show “Men’s Green Shirts”

Would be great to hear from someone who has used this feature to know if i’m understanding it right, and if it had positive or negatvie results!

    Thanks for your help

I’ve used them with mixed success. I’d say, depending on how you’re using it, make sure the brand is mentioned. In some cases, if someone searches for “Polo men’s blue shirts”, which could trigger your ad, and you don’t have polo shirts, you may get a great CTR but poor conversion rate. Just be clear and monitor your search terms and it can be a good tool to use in headlines.
