  • Growing followers via Instagram advertising – what an I doing wrong?

Posted by seohelper on April 13, 2021 at 10:09 pm

    Hi all,

I’m fairly new to Instagram ads but I really want to boost followers/engagement for some smaller companies I work with using a small budget (generally €100 per month to start).

I’m setting up individual audiences etc via Instagram for campaigns etc using small amounts each to test the posts but traction is still minuscule – is there anything I’m doing wrong or that I should be doing more of?

Do I need a bigger budget? Should I be setting Instagram ads via FB ad manager instead?

All help/tips to this novice welcome!

    Thanks so much.

Try using instagrams automatic target system instead of making your own. I’ve found to get more followers that way sometimes.

My current promotion is running for five days and a total of 50 bucks. Today is the last day it’s promoted. It’s reached over 10,000 people and only 43 have followed.

Have a third party review the content. As a designer it’s easy to fall in love with your own work. If it’s shit content or a niche no one cares about… it won’t matter how much money you spend promoting ads.

This is very difficult, there is a lot going on to get it right. But with $ 100 we don’t go for it and certainly not via Instagram – Facebook campaigns. To get real results here, we speak of $ 1000 / day. But posting a few photos every day with good content will bring in more followers than the wasting $ 100.

    Have nice day.

Absolutely set ads via fb ads manager. My engagement via ads manager for Instagram ads can be triple or upwards rather than doing it natively within the Instagram app.

However, getting followers with ads isn’t that easy. Obviously it’s time consuming and can come with budget constraints but being active on the social account and engaging with your community is the fastest way to grow a following over a small ad budget.

It’s hard to measure ROI on ads just based on followers too – because there isn’t much value in a follower unless they take some sort of action. Personally would be looking at other conversions for ads rather than followers.
