    Google shopping ads not spending

Posted by seohelper on June 4, 2021 at 11:09 am

Hey there, first time running google shopping ads and I’m stumped.

    1. Merchant center has some errors for some countries, but all products are eligible to run in the country I’ve setup the shopping ads for.

    2. Campaign status in Google ads says ‘eligible’ and I have upped CPC from $.25 to $1. Diagnostics in Google ads has all products as “ready to serve”.

    3. Under products in google ads, every product says “ready to serve”

Any thoughts? Do I need to up CPC more? Is it low search volume? My free listings are getting impressions so there must be some volume?

I’m definitely linking the correct merchant account and google ads account.

Standard shopping campaign, $50 a day.

Depends on what the errors are, that could be an issue. Bids could be to low for a hyper competitive space. Some clients are paying close to $2 CPC to compete in Google shopping.

Google will put your account “under review” without any notice or place to see that it’s “under review”. If for some reason they think any activity on your account seems suspicious, you’re going “under review”.

The best part? You can be “under review”, get accepted, change a bid, and boom back “under review”. Takes 3-4 days which is now closer to 7-10 with the pandemic.

    Totally broken system

Check your CPC’s at different levels. I had a similar issue on an account where the CPC was set to 0.01 on a product group level. Stopped it from spending

Did you happen to check the box in Merchant Center that says the site includes adult products? That could potentially prevent you from getting any traffic.

Had a similar issue recently. Check your feed has been setup properly in the right currency/country. My issue was I had US/UK feed setup, but had both in USD and under two different feeds.

Add negative keywords and make sure your feed is optimized with keywords that have volume
