Google Search Console: Sitemap index only discovers 1.000 URLS out of 500.000 URLS
I have a sitemap index that contains 10 sitemaps with about 50.000 urls each. But when I’m submitting it to GSC, it only discovers about 1.000 urls. I’ve validated the sitemaps for XML and UTF-8 and there’s no problem. I’ve also made a live test url for each sitemap, and there’s no problems here either.
What can I do? It’s quite a new site, but I have two other domains for different countries (.DK and .NO) and their sitemaps are all good.

I have the same problem right now – I think GSC is buggy at the moment.
Most of my maps will say success but show a 0 for discovered URLs but when looking at URLs indexed I have over 4m reported.

Sitemaps do have a limit of 50,000 URLs and I think 50MB.
Not sure why it isn’t finding more than 1,000 URLs, but it will never find all 500,000 you submitted.

I have the same issue, website contains +8000 urls only about 1000 is discovered. sitemap index is showing 0 urls. When I submitted each sitemap separately and things start kicking. Its gsc issue.
