Does Google require business owners to pay in order that the reviews they receive are published? Several customers have written positive reviews on my wife’s business, but the reviews don’t appear.

No, but they will restrict the display of reviews if they suspect spam, fake or bought reviews.

5 days ago – the person who wrote it can see the review on their end, but the review can’t be viewed by the public at large.

You need to have a certain volume of reviews in a certain period of time before they are published.
