Google PMAX – Policy Issues: Ad running to limited audience

Posted by AHUSSAIN23 on December 9, 2023 at 3:51 pm

Hey all. We’re experimenting with Google PMAX.

We’re a modest clothing eCommerce business and we predominantly sell dresses and headscarves to mostly Muslim females.

Our image assets are being flagged as ‘Religious belief in personalized advertising’, hence being limited.

They are images of women in dresses and headscarves, with a white background. Nothing more, nothing less.

Is there any way we can get around this?

You can try to appeal the decision. If the images are being flagged in Google Merchant Center (GMC). Just click on SKU in GMC and usually about half way down the page there is an option to appeal a decision…. if an appeal is an option. Not all warming/disapproval let you appeal. The other option is trying to talk with Google support but that will likely be a longer process and tons of back and forth, depending on who you get.

    I had the same.
After a conversation with our account manager and appealing for about the third time they sorted it.

    Only took a month too.
