    Google App Campaigns weirdness

Posted by seohelper on June 4, 2021 at 6:12 pm

I’ve been running Google App campaigns for the last two months, with a budget of about $200/day.
Smooth sailing for a while, with in-app conversion goals being met at a pretty good price ($120/signup).

Then suddenly early last week, two weird things happened simultaneously:
    1. My conversions dried up
    2. Google stopped well short of my daily ad spend.

I know it averages the ad spend per month, so it would sometimes spend $150 here and $250 there to make up for it.

But now we’re talking $885 spent over 10 days, way less than the $2000 it should be spending. Over the last four days it only spent $175.

I’m not sure what happened. Any ideas?

Also, a complete n00b question: who sees my App campaigns? There are no keywords to input, so how does the AI figure out who to show the ads to?

I am relatively new to PPC (Started with my company a bit over a month ago) but we also have some App campaigns running. The first thing I can think of is that the IOS 14 update messed up a lot of stuff that deals with conversion tracking. For us, it seemed like the conversions dried up for a while but in reality, they just took longer to get attributed to our campaign.

So if your issues are in an IOS App Campaign then the update is most likely what has messed you up. If your issues are with Android then unfortunately I don’t have any good answer for you. Hope this helps!
