Google Ads Acct Suspension: No Warning, ‘Circumventing Systems’, No Linking Outside of YouTube

Posted by millionsofpeaches__ on April 24, 2024 at 3:45 pm

A clients ad account got suspended last night due to ‘circumventing systems’. This is the fifth YouTube video that was being promoted as a pre-roll ad and I didn’t get any warnings or have issues with the ones promoted previously.

The external link was linking directly back to the YouTube video that was being promoted. Again, I didn’t have any issues with this on the previous videos.

    Any insights here?

Addtl Info: no other campaigns have been running since the beginning of the year. Account has been active with no issues for over five years

Call/chat/email support. One of my client accounts had a similar issue last year on the first day or two concurrent months, and each time it was an error in Google’s automated system. Both times the issue was resolved within a few days, and the second time I was able to escalate to someone who was able to whitelist the account so no further suspensions would occur. God speed.

This thread is a little helpful but not much. https://support.google.com/google-ads/thread/202901275/how-to-fix-circumventing-systems-policy-suspension?hl=en. Google support won’t help you either so don’t waste your time calling them.

If I was in your shoes, I would verify that there are no issues with the website, landing pages, etc.. No duplicate Google Ads accounts, etc.. Once you confirm all that and you verify there are no issues, then you can file an appeal.

If the appeal is rejected, then you might just have to close the account and start a new one with a different card lol. Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to this. Sorry you have to deal with that.
