  Getting Engagement on Instagram posts via FB Ads

  Hello! I am new to FB advertising and have an issue that I cannot solve, so all help would be greatly appreciated.

  I am advertising exclusively on Instagram, and at the moment, I am only trying to get likes as social proof on my profile. To do this, I have done the following:

  1. Started an Engagement Campaign
  2. When creating the ad, I chose “Use Existing Post” and inserted the Instagram post which I want to increase the likes on
  3. Note: I used “Edit Placement” to add unique text to the ads instead of the actual text from the original post

  I did receive many likes, but this is not reflected on my Instagram page, only on the ads themselves. I was under the impression that “Use Existing Post.” would mean that the engagement would reflect on my profile, but this doesn’t seem to be the case, or I am doing something wrong. Can someone please explain this to me?
