    So with the help of all you wonderful people here, we’re moving to the next phase of our website revamp this week.

    **What we’ve done so far:**

    * Paid for a professional photographer to replace all product photos
    * Correctly assigned keywords to all H1 titles.
    * I have added more detail to product pages, including keywords.
    * I have added keywords to image titles and alt text.
    * Created a custom feed for GMC for additional product detail on shopping tabs
    * Started linking to products and collections from other pages, like our care guides
    * I started reaching out to local businesses for backlinks

    **What we’re doing next:**

    * Rebranding our colours and fonts
    * Upgrading to the latest theme template
    * Removing unused apps to help speed things up
    * Content. Content. Content

    We are working on content. My wife runs a small candle store. We have a lot of topics we can cover for common questions people ask about candles, wax melts, diffusers etc., so we will start answering those in the form of blogs. We have about 20-30 so far (titles only), but I’d like to know if a blog is better, worse, or just the same regarding SEO effectiveness over landing pages.

    I wanted to start adding more pages within the ‘about’ section to cover things like how we make our products, what makes us vegan, how we run as eco-friendly as possible etc. Still, I was curious whether this content is better as a blog or a specific page a user can navigate to.

    Does it matter?

    Blog posts are generally longer and provide more in-depth information about a specific topic than a landing page. A landing page is typically designed to convert visitors into leads or customers, and it uses shorter, more concise content to do this.

    Well-crafted landing pages can bring you excellent conversions, while a blog post can go viral and attract tons of traffic. You should find the right balance. I think adding that content under the “about” section as a regular page is a sensible idea, as it’s a natural continuation of what you do.
