    Facebook targeted location feature disabled?

Posted by shortbarrelflamer on August 5, 2023 at 11:35 pm

So about 3 weeks ago my Facebook targeted ads went to absolute dog sh*t. Suddenly 75% of the messages I’m getting are from outside of my targeted service area. I also saw another one of their messages about an iOS update impacting results. Has our ability to only show ads to a designated location field just completely gone away or what? Anyway to resurrect this?

Facebook ads have progressively gotten worse over the last year and a half both in customers contacting us and then never responding again despite immediately replying within 2 minutes of the lead coming in, massive amounts of accidental clicks and now location-based targeting going to hell. I feel like this is finally going to be the straw that breaks camels back and makes me tell Facebook to kick rocks. It’s a shame for them because we spend several thousand dollars a month on ads and I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been impacted. Over the last 3 years the cost to net the same number of usable leads has almost tripled

What are everyone’s thoughts? Where are people moving their ad revenue to?

This is for a local service company btw

I get audience from a completely different country.

had to manually exclude it to actually get my targeted area.

correct its no longer allowing users to pick audiences “Living” and now includes “Recently Visited” in combination. Its part of their depreciation of pivoting to less niche, more broad. See if you can exclude surrounding locations you don’t need.
