Ever had an account/ecomm that just can’t sell with Google Ads?

It is frustrating. I have plenty budgets, plenty broad keywords, all the right negative keywords.
Only running search, DSA and classic shopping (after pmax didnt bring any conversions).
Conversion implementation is correct, I checked. At campaign level, the optimization is done for add to carts and purchases.

My only thought is that, since redoing the conversion implementation, there have not been any conversions and so the algo can’t see any patterns yes.

Yes, I think the website isn’t the best looking one, the products are branded wholesale products from alibaba and the brand is new, unheard of. But I trust that people usually buy even if the website isn’t goodlooking.

For reference, spend so far is ++2K USD and zero purchases.

A Google rep would probably tell me that in order to optimiser for conversions you need at least x number. But I don’t have them.

    Any thoughts?

Personally I dont take on clients who haven’t proven out results but here is my best go at your problem:

    1. Change to a manual cpc strategy to force high levels of clicks at a cheaper price
    2. Eliminate all broad and phrase match keywords. Only focus on the most high intent keywords that are clearly linked to your product.
    3. Change to a manual CPC strategy to force high levels of clicks at a cheaper price keywords that are clearly linked to your product.

It can be extremely disheartening to put in the effort to set up a Google Ads campaign only to see little to no results in terms of conversions. In your case,it seems that you have taken all the proper steps to optimize your campaign.

Have you checked the search term report? Does it give you a hint as to where to focus on the keywords? note that since you changed the conversion and still need conversions, it might be difficult for the algorithm to pick up patterns.

Are your products optimized for shopping?

Another factor to consider is the appearance and reputation of the website, as well as the brand behind the products being sold. Although you are selling branded wholesale products from Alibaba, the brand itself may need to be better known or established, which could impact its success. However, it is essential to remember that the Google Ads algorithm can take time to optimize and may require a minimum number of conversions in order to target and convert your audience effectively. Despite the spending of over 2K USD and lack of purchases, it is crucial to stay focused and persistent to make your campaign a success. Consulting with a Google representative to gain insight and guidance on optimization strategies could also be a practical step but be wise to take their suggestions; they are trained to make you (THE CLIENT) spend more money.

Sure, it’s extremely difficult to sell low-ticket commodity items on Google Ads unless you have an established brand. That’s just one example.

It can also be hard to move out of the basement… you’re spending $1K/month and getting 3-4 conversions and the client is afraid to spend more. You’ll be stuck there forever not being able to optimize. When you have zero conversions you’re going nowhere fast.

When consulting with a prospect there are pointed questions you can and should ask to determine whether you’re likely going to find success.

Small budgets on Google Shopping are problematic.
