  • Duplicate content for different landing pages

I have a landing page for feature X that shows up when people search for X. If I copy that page but then replace everything that refers to X with mentions of feature Y, could that have a negative impact?

Both these pages are only meant to appear when people search X or Y respectively so I don’t think they’d cannibilize traffic which seems like the main concern I’ve heard for duplicate content. But can having duplicate content also apply some sort overall page penalty too?

Is it a service page or a landing page? A landing page is meant to convert a lead. Typically you drive traffic to that kind of page. So if the target audience is the same for both landing pages, I doubt it would deter people.

There are huge agencies that use duplicate content for business across an industry. If the page is built well, the content reads, and there isn’t much local competition, the page will still rank. I hope this helps a bit!
