  • Does redirecting links from high DA sites to your site work?

Posted by seohelper on September 17, 2021 at 9:03 am

Hi. Have a friend who’s offering to change 2 broken links from DA 90+ sites to my blog. Does this improve my sites ranking/offer link juice or am I wasting my time and risking being penalised by google?

The links are from relevant sites and articles to my site, but obviously not written with my site in mind.

    Thanks!

It’s definitely worth it. Google isn’t going to penalize you for doing that.

Relevancy is key here, both to search engines and users.

So long as you’re sending them to a relevant landing page, you should get a lot of the authority/benefit.

But if the backlink relates to a specific product or brand and you redirect them to something less relevant then they won’t get as much value.
