Does changing your Instagram username (the @) impact post performance?
Client recently changed their Instagram username to better align with their main brand. This was done last night, and today, across both daily posts, the performance has declined by 70%-80% across reach, likes and engagement. Is this normal behaviour post username change or can something else describe sudden change? And it it is the username change, when do you think we could expect things to shift towards the normal? Thanks

Was it announced? It’s possible people don’t recognize the account now.
A lot of people support brands/account owners and when it no longer has the same name, if they weren’t notified they’re like “who tf is this?”
