GuestApril 5, 2023 at 9:45 pmI’ve been on Twitter for about 15 years and I saw an immediate change in the tone and content as soon as he announced that he wanted to purchase it. Explosion in bot accounts and activity, and the racism and antisemitism have hit a fever pitch.
As someone who manages a $1m+ advertising budget, and had considered expanding to Twitter late last year, I will no longer be doing that.
On top of all of that, most of the tweets in my timeline now are not people I follow, just accounts that are followed by someone I follow. The overall quality of my experience has gone way down.

GuestApril 5, 2023 at 10:35 pmAudience has shifted for sure. Different groups of people more active there than before, lots of others have left. So that negatively affects brands and organizations with built-up audiences that lean progressive/left. But I think that was the objective.

GuestApril 5, 2023 at 11:30 pmIf you download Twitter and make a new account, Twitter will send you a million notifications that are either Tweets from Elon himself, a bunch of conservative stuff, or things that are generally hating on specific groups of people. So basically it pushes a narrative on you and shoves a bunch of political stuff (specifically right-wing) in your face
Twitter was never like that before. So yes, Elon changed Twitter. In my opinion it was for worse because who wants politics shoved in your face?! Most people don’t.

GuestApril 6, 2023 at 1:02 amI’m killing it on Twitter. I have 11k followers and consistently get more impressions than the exact same content on IG where I have 750k followers. I avoid all controversial topics and stick to food. I’m having brands seek me out there. Not as much as on IG, but it is definitely rounding into a revenue stream for me.
I’m not kidding on the numbers. I posted five short clips from a cook I did. I posted them on both IG and Twitter on the same day. I got 216k impressions on IG between all 5 and on Twitter I got 280k. I am paying for the check mark on both.
If you want to share great content to create engagement, Twitter is fantastic. But not if you get into the muck and argue politics or whine about Elon rather than staying on task.

GuestApril 6, 2023 at 2:29 amYes, it definitely has. He definitely wants to kill off any type of bot BOT unless they’re not only verified through subscription because at the end of the day your identity follows your wallet, it also gives somewhat of an incentive to show that you’re interested in the information that you get out of that platform is valuable or worth something.
also, furthermore the landscape in the architecture that he has implemented is astonishing when it comes to user interface! And the ability of immutability in messages between you and friends, and post that you sent to friends meaning everything is as is.

GuestApril 6, 2023 at 5:37 amElon is like Tom from MySpace. We all see him in our timeline whether we like it or not

GuestApril 6, 2023 at 11:19 amIt has changed a lot. My company stopped using it. I do not look at random people or ads. I get so much garbage in my feed. Musk’s tweets must go out to the masses. Full frontal nudity pics. Maybe someone I follow looks at it, and the algorithm thinks I must like it too. I didn’t use to log on to see sex acts in my new posts. Many bots with whatsapp or posting undying love. I spent time blocking those accounts that I didn’t have to before.

GuestApril 6, 2023 at 12:33 pmThe algorithm is ASS now. My feed is nothing that I want to see or am interested in. It’s the same 2 or 3 accounts and a bunch of random fight videos(??)

GuestApril 6, 2023 at 1:48 pmNoticed extremely random tweets on my company’s feed.
Also noticed that my ads have stopped giving me a good roi.
For example when I used to promote a link for link clicks, my drop off rate was 25-30% when I tracked the same link on Google analytics using UTM tags.
Now I have a drop off rate of almost 50% which is Insane.

GuestApril 6, 2023 at 8:46 pmIt’s extremely toxic and the whole ‘free speech’ just allowed hatred to seep through. It’s a constant ever growing shithole. I see constant alt right propaganda and Elon musk posting cringy memes. The amount of nfts and crypto scams are annoying and bots have not been removed at all
