Undoubtedly twitter had issues before Elon but he certainly hasn’t made things any better.

He’s a PITA and I wish he’d go back to trying to conquer Mars or whatever. My clients are worrying about the platform and thinking we should pull back in favor of LinkedIn. I’m just kinda over his broski bullshit at this point.

the quality of paid ads has definitely gotten worse on twitter. it has made scrolling more obnoxious.

The overall tenor has declined. I actually got doxxed a couple months ago over a company tweet, had to lock down all my personal social accounts for a bit.

It’s definitely gone downhill. Kinda getting that end of MySpace vibe again.

I’m not sure why anyone would run ads on it unless it’s 1. policy/brand position ads that you want to get public officials or reporters’ eyes on, or, 2. ROI positive sales of DTC products. If you’re big brand Coca-cola, automotive, whatever else, brand safety on the platform should terrify you.

It is a lot more toxic and discovery on the platform is now even more of an alt-right pipeline than it was before, especially since exposure is throttled except for Blue Ticks and those generally self-select to be douchebags.

I suddenly started getting tweet notifications 10x times a day per account (company accounts as well) every time a right wing lunatic said something hateful. Literally it was 40 notifications a day of the most ignorant shit ever. Didn’t happen before and makes no sense based on demo as I’m extremely not part of the party I was getting shoved down my throat

Changed a lot!
Especially, recent announcement of very high cost for API is gonna make things a lot tough for Twitter tools. Being a co-founder of a Twitter management tool, I might be one of the most suffering persons due to this change.
I wish they reconsider their decision and come up with a reasonable cost for API.

Personally I feel like it lost that vibe it used to have. If anything it’s made me more motivated to limit what social media I use. Missing MySpace rn
