Do I need to use Competitor Brand name or keywords in my ad copy or landing page as oppose to SEO for running ads on their keywords

As we know that you have to incorporate keywords in your content and meta copies at prominent places for SEO.

    But what about Ads?

If I want to run ads on my competitors brand name, am I suppose to incoporate the competitors brand somewhere in my landing page or ad copy
or without using them also my ads will be running perfectly fine?

As for example, active campaign run ads on Mail chimp brand and so on…

How can I run ad on my competitors brand name or keywords?

As far as I know, using competitors name in your ads directly can get you in trouble. Using it as a keyword is fine, using it in a copy is misleading.

Your ads will be rejected if you use your competitor’s brand name in the copy. And even if they would be approved you could face legal issues.

It’s not necessary at all. You can use keywords/competitors brand name, without including them on your website and still your ads are going to run perfectly fine. But why?

If someone is searching for your competitors and your ads shows up, they are going to click you and after that they’ll know that they are in the wrong place. In this case you’re just going to losse money.
