Creating digital marketing consulting firm, need advice in offering pricing

Posted by Cyphman on July 13, 2023 at 3:11 pm

I am currently in the process of creating a digital marketing consulting firm. I want to use my decade of experience in marketing and advertising, and finally work on my own. I am looking for some advice as the best way to price some of my digital offerings SEO, paid search campaign, creation, and maintenance, social media asset, page, creation, and ad campaign, managing, etc. My website is nowhere close to being done yet but you can check out galacticvisions.com to get an idea of my offerings. I am thinking along the lines of $1000 a month to create and manage sem campaigns with a minimum ad spend if $1000. $4-6k for a website creating with hosting setup and WordPress as the bulilder. Still figuring out social media rates.

Nobody can really give you guidance on your rates in a vacuum.

There are people here who charge $40/hr and others that charge $400.

Some value price projects, others do time and materials.

Some have high minimums, some service smaller clients exclusively.

You need to figure out what clients you actually want and realistically can land, then figure out what makes you a compelling solution in that space (could be skill, could be price, could be industry experience, could be something else). Then you should figure out what you need to make to put food on the table and meet your own personal income goals – and account for down time, non-billable time, etc. that is naturally going to happen along with all the other expenses (software, hardware, insurance, etc.). Finally look at what others are charging in the space for similar skill/quality of work.

Some combo of the above will get you to what you ‘should’ charge – then you go out and see if you get bites and adjust.
